Akame, walked along the side of the lake. His dark fur was buffted by the wind that blew. His dog side was obvious to anyone, him looking more like a german sheperd than a wolf. His eyes, big paws, and fangs were the only thing that told anyone he was half wolf.
Looking down at the ground he kept walking, leaving paw prints on the muddy shore. His tail was low and so was his head, as if he were looking for something. Golden eyes, darted back and forth from the water and back towards the dry land. He sighed. "Should I go swimming or not?" he asked himself, raising his head, looking at the sky.

It was an all-in-all easy, lazy, day. The ebon wolf had no alliances to anyone, and therefore had no duties. She could hunt, she could doze, she could run forever and no one would care. It was a perfect life. The sun beat down upon her back, heating her skin and drying her wet fur. Stomach rested against the hard surface of a rock as she stretched out on her side; head up, legs and tail stretched. Eyelids were only half open, her eyes shielded as she rested. Within moments every inch of fur of her pelt had dried and she was as comfortable as ever. Ear twitched as the sound of squishing mud reached her resting frame. A second later and her eyes had opened and she was watching a dog walk towards the lake. But wait, what was a dog doing here? He didn't seem to notice her, but she wouldn't have noticed if he had. "Should I go swimming or not?" "The water is quite lovely." she said in a bold voice, hoping to scare him if not slightly -- it would be amusing if she had.

Akame jumped a bit out of surprise. He turned towards the resting female wolf and blinked. He lightly walked over to her. "I'm sorry. I didn't see you there, miss....," he trailed off as he relized he didn't know the wolves name. He sat down a few feet away from her.

Oh he had wolf in him alright, if not much. Riatha laughed darkly at his surprise, a chuckle that made one feel shameful -- even when they had done nothing wrong. "I would most certainly hope so, for the future of your own well-being." She watched him carefully, sitting up and curling her tail around her legs -- not out of fear at such a resting position, but more in boldness as she held her head high and proud. "Riatha will suffice, but I cannot say that I am interested in who you may be." she said truthfully.

Akame looked at Riatha. His fur began to rise, but he forced it to lay back down. "Well I'm sorry I asked, Riatha. It seems you don't like me," he said, growling a bit. His razor sharp fangs were slightly bared, but he looked away not wanting to fight.

Riatha tilted her head in mock-curiosity, that mischievous look in her eyes -- though she was indeed having fun. "Now, don't get upset because you are not used to such veracity -- the world is full of lies, I doubt you would enjoy them coming from my own mouth." she taunted. This was much to fun for her own good. "After all, we did just meet." she added as she got to her feet and stretched, jumping down from her place on the rock. "I bid you well, my doggy friend." she said with a smirk as she began to walk off towards the underbrush not far off -- though she really didn't have any where to go.

"Dog?" Akame asked, watching her go. He quickly caught up with her and cut off her path. He had stepped in front of her. "I am not a dog," he growled with an acid like tone. "I may not be a purebred wolf, but I am deffinantly not a dog," he added, calming down a bit.

"Dog?" Within a moment the male had stepped infront of her, blocking her intended route back into the forest and the camoflouge it provided. "I am not a dog." Riatha threw her head back and let out a howl. It was filled with complete and utter humor and disbelief. It died off with her laughing so hard it made her stomach hurt. "And what do you think a dog is?" she began, biting back ending chuckles, "A dog, if you are so ignorant and do not know, is a canine with the wolf bred out of them -- a HYBRID. And that is what you are, is it not?" the laughter finally out of her. "Now if you would excuse me." she said calmly, walking around him.

Akame's ears laid back on his head as he heard that. He did look hurt and he didn't bother hiding it. "I'm not a dog," he insisted. "I'm as much wolf as I am dog," he added, whining a bit. He looked at the ground. "Well if I'm a dog at least I'm not a b*tch," he snapped, perking up a bit.

Riatha looked over her shoulder as he continued to talk, only mildly interested. "I'm not a dog, I'm as much wolf as I am dog." Oh now this was pathetic. He was a hybrid, and he was whining about it. Oh lord, who cared exactly what he was? He was, who he was, why would he be upset about it? But hey, if he wanted to further amuse her, why should she be the one to stop him? "Well if I'm a dog at least I'm not a bitch," Riatha yawned softly, "Yes, and what a pity that must be." she said nonchalantly. "You would rather pity yourself about who you are than just accept it. Be happy, you're the only doggy friend I have ever had; and for that you're unique. Oddness is something that should be treasured.

Akame stumbled in shock. She had insulted him and now she was calling him her friend? Yeah, this she-wolf confused him. He didn't get it and it was annoying him. "Friend?" he asked, walking after Riatha. "I'm your friend?" he asked, not believing her.

She chuckled inwardly at his surprise, continuing her walk into the underbrush. The most interesting conversations came from such chance encounters. "I'm your friend?" She could tell he was annoyed, but she wasn't paying all the much attention to him any more. Riatha's fur lifted upon her back, ears turning back in an act of feeling unsure. The forest was quiet here, and it sent an eerie feeling throughout her. Shaking her body in that animal way, she recklessly blew it off as paranoia. "You are yet to hurt me, and therefore you are a friend." she explained. If he had been an enemy, he would have already shone his true colors -- intentionally or not.

Akame looked at her and nodded. "It's quiet today," he replied, not hearing a sound in the forest. He looked around. "I wonder where everything is," he added, almost whispering.

Riatha didn't like this, something wasn't right here -- it seemed like this small area of the forest was cursed. It wasn't large, but with her slowed pace it seemed to be. She was walking ahead of her new-found (whether temporary or not) companion, when abruptly the earth became unsteady beneath her. Yelping in surprise, Riatha fell down into a pit covered with leaves and grasses. Pain shot up her back right leg as she landed in an unnatural position, her eyes clenched shut as the debris settled around her. Opening her eyes, she could only see a wall directly in front of her and feel the throbbing in her leg -- whether Akame had been caught in her tumble wasn't currently known.

Akame heard the yelp and looked at Riatha. He padded forward, being careful. "Riatha, are you okay?" he asked, standing next to her and leaning down to look at her back leg. It didn't look good and she did look in pain. "That was a stupid question. It's obviously you're not okay," he added.
