It all started with a pretty little butterfly. Sagina had been following the thing for almost an hour, at first sunk low in tall grasses, then behind rocks. She had even braved over a large tree that had fallen over a rushing river. Now, she was hiding in the underbrush as she watched the insect beat its black and blue wings. The summer day was hot, but the forest's shade kept her relatively cool. Silver eyes watched the butterfly intently, not even remotely aware of her surroundings. Crawling on her belly, she inched ever closer to the winged creature. In a second she had pounced. However, the creature just lifted itself from the bush and fluttered away. Sagina, however, crashed straight through into some sort of clearing. She rolled right into something bony; which knocked her back a few paces. Landing on her stomach in a laid down position, she didn't even have to open her eyes to know that she had ran into the leg of another wolf.

[Night]

"Hey, Genba, look it's a pup," A deep voice rumbled, sniffing the pup that had ran into him. "Are you okay?" he asked, lightly poking her with his massive paw.

"Of course she's okay! It's not like she almost drown," Another voice retorted, walking over. "Get up and tell us what you're doing here," he added. It was soft, but demanding.

"Don't say it like that! You have to be nice," another voice said. It sounded younger, but still male. He looked at the girl pup. "Hey, what's your name? I'm Kiba and this is Genba and Hougen," he said, his face right in the girls.

[~*Dream*~]

"Hey, Genba, looks it's a pup." Sagina opened her eyes, pinning her ears and whimpering softly -- trying to appear as little as possible. It was an act of submission, something any wolf knew how to do -- no matter how young. Her little body shook as he nearedm intimidated by his large frame. "Are you okay?" Sagina's ears perked at that, surprised by the kindness -- unknown pups weren't normally welcomed so easily. She nodded slightly, just as another wolf walked over -- about the same size, the same color as well. "Of course she's okay! It's not like she almosed drowned. Get up and tell us what you're doing here." Sagina, of course, sat up and felt herself relax -- a breath of relief flowing out of her. "Don't say it like that! You have to be nice!" And yet another made themselves known. It was another pup, older than her but still quite young. "Hey, what's your name? I'm Kiba and this is Genba and Hougen." Sagina smiled softly, wagging her tail. "I'm Sagina." she offered in a friendly if not somewhat shy voice. She normally wasn't such an introvert, but she was easily surprised (and not in a good way).

[Night]

Kiba's tail wagged. "Want to play a game? Hougen and Genba were going to take me back to the den. You can come too," he said, playfully poking her.

"Kiba," Genba began, only to get a stern look from Hougen. He sighed. "Fine, she can come," he muttered, walking away.

"C'mon you too, we have to get the deer back," Hougen said, picking up a dead deer and headed after his brother.

Sagina barked happily and followed along after, not far from where Kiba was. Out of all three of them he seemed the most friendly -- though she was already starting to warm up to Hougen -- as a pup, it didn't take much for her to do so. "Want to play a game?" Sagina nodded eagerly. "TAG!" she barked, nudging Kiba's shoulder before taking off towards the front of the group and around back behind them again.

[Night]

Kiba laughed and ran after Sagina. He ran under Hougen and poked her with one of his paws. "Tag," he said, before turning around and bounding off, under Genba. He felt something knock him over.

Genba's paw caught on to Kiba and he tripped, falling over the pup, also knocking him over. He landed on the ground. He groaned and then got up. "You little-," he began before, stopping. He lifted his head and looked around. "Come out. I already have your scent," he said.

A figure came out of the bushes. It was small and quite beautiful. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to sneak up on-," her voice began, but was cut off by Hougen and Genba who flanked either side of her.

"Oh it's quite okay. And since my brother was so rude, you may stay with us tonight," Hougen said, giving the girl wolf a smile.

Kiba got up. He looked at Hougen and Genba then at the new comer. He shrugged and looked at Sagina.

Sagina turned and almost followed Kiba right into his little tumble, but caught herself in time. Going around, she trotted back to Kiba's side, "Are you okay?" she asked, perking her ears as a she-wolf came. At the sight of Hougen and Genba instantly next to her, Sagina laughed softly as the word flirt momentarily crossed her mind. Sagina barked lightly and ran over, nudging the new comer. "Hi, my name's Sagina. Come play with us!" she said, backing up and jumping up and down cutely.

[Night]

Kiba was immediatly next to Sagina, jumping up and down also. "Yeah, please! I'm Kiba," he said, his tail wagging.

Genba looked at the two pups. "Behave," he snapped.

The female smiled at the two pups. "I would love to. My name is Ryo," she said, walking over to the pups. She looked at Hougen and Genba. "Well, lead the way," she said winking at them.

Hougen smiled. "Of course," he said, walking towards the den.

Genba followed.

Behave. Sagina pouted and stuck her tongue out at him. Her tail wagged, however, when Ryo agreed. "What should we play now, Kiba?" she asked, walking on one side of the petite female -- it was much too hot for tag, now that they had been bouncing around. She wondered how long it would be before they got there and were out of this heat. Sagina's tongue hung from her mouth as she panted, not caring how ungraceful it looked.

[Night]

"hmmm.... I don't know," Kiba said thinking for a moment. "Oh I know," he said, running over to Genba. He hopped up onto Genba's back and sat down.

Genba looked at his back. "What are you doing?" he asked.

"Riding on your back, duh," Kiba said, making a funny face. "Let's ride Hougen and Genba like they're horses," he said, looking back at Sigana.

Ryo giggled, looking at Kiba. "Cute," she said, walking up inbetween the two males.

[~*Dream*~]

Sagina tilted her head quizically at Kiba as he ran over and hopped on Genba's back -- before laughing, that is. "Let's ride Hougen and Genba like they're horses." Stifling her laughter, Sagina ran and leaped easily onto Hougen's back. Sitting down, she giggled as her tail curled around her legs. "I like this game." she commented, laying down with one paw over the side. "Come on, go faster!" she commanded, grabbing hold of Hougen's ear and tugging.

[Night]

"Hey, hey, stop that," Hougen said. He sighed and began to prance, going a bit faster. "If you fall off, it's not my fault," he said, smiling a bit. He was warming up to the small pup.

Genba followed. "This is embarrassing. We're alphas. We shouldn't be acting like this," he snorted.

"It's nice, Genba. They're just pups," Ryo said, looking up at Genba.

[~*Dream*~]

Sagina giggled, "We're going to beat you, Kiba!" she called over towards him and Genba. While they weren't going especially fast, it was enough to test her balance. This was just too much fun for the young pup. "Whoa..." she muttered under her breath as she almost fell off; catching herself at the last moment by grabbing onto Hougen's scruff and pulling herself back to center.

[Night]

"Becareful," Ryo said, smiling.

"We're here," Hougen said, stopping infront of a few caves. There was a calm river, leading to a pond a few yards away. He laid down. "Okay, I hope you enjoyed your ride on the S.S.Hougen, please come back soon," he said, smiling a bit.

Genba shook his pelt, sending Kiba to the ground. "So, Ryo," he said, smiling at the female.

Ryo looked at the pups. "You two want to go swimming? I'll teach you," she said, smiling.

Kiba hopped up. "I want to," he said.

Laughing softly, Sagina hopped from Hougen's back onto solid ground. She stumbled a bit, her legs readjusting themselves to actually walking. "You two want to go swimming? I'll teach you." Sagina couldn't help but laugh under her breath as Ryo ignored Genba. "I want to go too!" she barked, wagging her tail. Her first memory was that of a river, and ever since water had always been a sight of comfort. As much as she loved water, however, she had not the faintest idea how to swim. Loping towards the water, she waited for Ryo and Kiba to join her.
