Kiba let go of her leg and stumbled backwards. He looked at her, shocked. "What'd you do that for?" he asked, wiping his cheek on his paw.

Ryo laughed a bit. "Don't act like you didn't like it, Kiba. I cansee it in your eyes," she said, laughing.

Sagina giggled, not even offering an explanation -- she'd let him figure it out on his own. Sagina trotted outside, blinking at the more direct summer light. She rolled around in the dirt, loving the feeling of the warm earth against her skin.

[Night]

Ryo and Kiba followed shortly after.

"Hey, you're up," a deep voice said. It was Hougen. He was smiling slightly.

"Any luck?" Ryo asked.

"No, noneat all," Hougen replied. "Genba is still looking, though," he added, walking over. He sat down and watched the pups.

"Tell me. What was it for? I want to know," Kiba said, prodding Sagina with his paw.

Sagina smiled and barked happily at the sight of Hougen, sitting up and wagging her tail. She looked at Kiba with a glance of pure amusement. "Hmm...too bad." she said with a shrug, getting up and trotting off towards the edge of the river. Something inside of her was screaming at her not to approach it, but she had to quench her thirst. She did so without incident, but was eager to get away from the moving waters.

Kiba followed. "But, Sagina," he complained. Suddenly, his paw caught on something. He tripped and fell into the water. He yelped as he hit the water, but was immediatly pulled back out by Hougen. He smiled sheepishly as he was set back onto the ground. He shook his pelt.

Sagina turned at the splash, the only thing she could see was water; her own paws thrashing in front of her. With a small yip she bolted into a thorn bush -- not even really noticing the few scratches she got on her body and legs. She curled up, trying to get a hold of herself.

Kiba looked at Sagina. He walked over to the thorn bush. "Sagina, c'mon out. It's okay," he whined a bit, hoping to get her out. He needed to get her to go near water again, but he knew it would take a while.

The darkness of the thick foliage folded around her in a comforting way, and it quickly calmed her down. "No, it's safe here." she barked back in an almost hostile way. Anger was quickly replacing her fear. How dare he scare her like that? She snarled, but this time, she wasn't kidding. It wasn't as intimidating as an adults was, but it said everything she needed it to.

Kiba shrunk back a bit. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you," he said. "But if you'd rather act like a rabbit and hide, then fine. But I'm a wolf. I'm not afraid of anything," he said, snarling back. He turned and walked away, anger showing in every move he made. It was true, he hadn't meant to scare her and he didn't like it when wolves got mad at him.

Tears of anger brimmed her eyes. "I am what I am, wolf or not!" she barked after him, fur bristling and teeth bared; ears pinned to her skull. This was out of character, but she didn't care. Slinking carefully out of the thorn bush on the other side, she stormed off. A few droplets of blood still clung to the thorns.

Ryo followed Sagina. She didn't say anything at first. She glanced at the small pup. "What's wrong?" she asked, softly, slowing he rpace so she could walk next to Sagina.

Sagina didn't even acknowledge Ryo's presence for quite some time, preferring to stay in silence. "Go away." she muttered, fur bristling in irritation. The thought of being alone was comforting -- as she had been so for as long as she remembered. While in a normal mood she would do everything she could to stay close to these new wolves, this was different. She wasn't in a normal mood. Sagina had never experienced such terror, and at such a fragile age it was such a dangerous thing to go through.

"It's better to talk to someone about it, you know and I'm not going to leave you alone about it," Ryo said, looking down at the pup. It was true, she did want to know what was wrong, because she might beable to do something at it. And it was better talking to her than to one of the guys.

Sagina veered away, slinking under a thick bush. "I can deal with it. If you're so concerned, go chat with Kiba, he needs more help than I do." she whispered under her breath. Suddenly enough, her fur stood straight on end and she snarled, agitated. "I am not a rabbit." she began, baring her teeth, "And even if I was....I can't pretend not to be scared. It's who I am. Is that why I was left behind? Because I refuse to be something I am not? ..." she trailed, pacing back and forth; going on one of her endless ramblings.

"Sagina, you weren't left behind because of that. Something else must've happened, but I know no mother would leave her pup because of that stupid reason. And if she did, then she doesn't have a heart," Ryo said, sitting down and watching the pup. "Do you want to take a walk? It might help calm you down and I wont ask anymore questions, although I will listen if you want to talk," she offered.
