Sagina shook away the majority of water, lightly splashing the walls of the den. She had no problem laying next to Ryo, snuggling close and burying her face into the warm fur. It was what any average pup would when put under such stress -- normally to their mothers, but since Sagina was lacking such a figure, Ryo was currently the closest thing. She didn't even move when the smell of deer came into the den.

[Night]

Ryo smiled and lightly licked the fur of Sagina. "It's okay, Sagina. You're safe. I know it was scary, but you still have me, Kiba, Genba, and Hougen here for you. We'll take good care of you," she whispered, nuzzling her lightly.

Kiba walked into the den. He laid down on the opposite side of the den, his head on his paws. He was looking at Sagina.

Hougen and Genba came in after eating. They laid down, Genba towards one of the walls and Hougen on the other side of Ryo.

"But it's only a matter of time before you get rid of me too." she whined, holding back tears. While she never knew who her parents were, she had always assumed that they had just left her. What else could have happened? There were never and bodies, no trail of blood, so they had not been killed. Sagina knew herself to be abandoned, why should a pack she had only just met feel any different?

[Night]

"No, we're not going to get rid of you," Ryo said, giving the pup a reassuring smile. "Why would we? Even if you're not one of ours," she added.

"I don't abandon pups," Hougen added, looking down.

Kiba got up and walked over to Genba. He snuggled into Genba's side, laying down next to the alpha.

Sagina was slightly confused, and it showed on her face as she lifted her head and looked around. "Because I'm not one of yours...." she murmured, letting out a relatively loud, somewhat squeaky yawn. Sagina rested her head on her paws, already half asleep.

[Night]

"Don't worry, we're not going anywhere without you," Ryo said, laying her head on her paws. She smiled at the yawn. "Go to sleep," she added, closing her eyes.

Kiba was already asleep and so was Genba.

Sagina slept well....like a baby that night. Surrounded by other wolves made her feel safe and secure. On night like these not too long ago, Sagina barely ever got any sleep. Always being frightened awake by the rustling of tree leaves, or an owl hooting in the distance. Now, however, she laid undisturbed.

[Night]

The next morning, Kiba got up and looked around. Genba and Hougen were gone, but Ryo was still there.

Ryo was awake, eating a rabbit. She had stepped away from Sagina so she didn't wake her.

Sagina's ears twitched as she slowly woke up. Silver eyes slowly opened, instantly noticing the absence of warmth around her. She instantly sat up, looking around frantically in a fit of pure panic. The pups heart beat like a hummingbird's wings before she saw Ryo. She instantly relaxed, shuddering once before the initial terror subsided. Getting to her feet in an effort to let the incident go and somewhat cover it up, she stretched. Looking around, she noticed Kiba a little ways off and trotted over. Sitting down near him, she curled her tail around her legs. "Where'd Genba and Hougen go?" she asked, looking calmly for any sight of them.

Ryo looked at Sagina. "They're out looking for more members for the pack," she said, giving a small smile. She shook he rpelt lightly. "They'll be back later, but they left me incharge of you two," she added.

Kiba nodded. "So what do you want to do?" he asked, looking at Sagina.

"Oh, okay." she said, looking at her paws. "So what do you want to do?" Sagina smiled a little slyly. Her fur raised and she growled playfully, lowering herself and then pouncing on Kiba -- play fighting as she lightly grabbed his scruff.

[Night]

Kiba got loose real quick. He snarled playfully. He pounced at Sagina, grabbing her tail lightly in his teeth.

Sagina bared her teeth, letting go of his scruff and snarling loudly. She rolled onto the ground, back against it and belly up as she pulled on his ear, paws on either side of the older pups neck.

[Night]

Kiba looked at Sagina, growling slightly. He grabbed her leg, well whatever part he could reach, pulling it slightly. "You're not going to beat me," he said playfully, tail wagging.

Sagina growled as he got hold of her left leg, but suddenly stopped and stared up at him with innocent silver eyes -- an idea had got into her head. Lifting up her head, she licked his cheek -- hoping to catch him off guard with such affection. She wasn't sure where she had learned that from, but it was quickly coming into something of use.
