Kiba's fur bristled. He got up slowly and looked straight at Sagina. "Of course I'm mad! Why wouldn't I?" he snapped, baring his teeth. Tears formed in his eyes. "My only friend hurt me for something I couldn't help. I tripped and when I went to try and comfort you, you snapped and it hurt. It hurt badly," he said. Tears were rolling down his soft, furry cheeks as he stared straight at the she-wolf in front of him. He pressed his face straight into her side, letting the tears out. It didn't matter if he was mad, he wanted to feel better and she was his only friend.

Sagina backed up, her front feet pushing herself back while her back feet didn't move -- almost scrunching herself up at his hostile attitude. "I didn't mean---" she cut herself short, staring in shock -- it was borderline scary. She'd never witnessed such frusturation, and she wasn't quite sure how to deal with it. Sagina stumbled slightly, but got to holding still. Lifting up a paw, she patted him softly in a comforting way. There was probably something she could have said, but she was currently just out of words.

Kiba stayed like that. "I'm sorry, Sagina. I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to scare you like that," he sobbed, backing away to look at her. It was obvious his anger was gone and was replaced with sorrow. His pale blue eyes moved there way to the ground as he sat back down. He then remembered something. "By the way, I have a question," he said, looking back up at Sagina. "Why did you lick me?" he asked, seeming curious, once again, about that subject. He wasn't used to being treated like that, well he has lived with Hougen and Genba and they did treat him like an older wolf instead of a pup.

Sagina shifted uncomfortably, trying to comfort her friend. She was terribly sorry for making Kiba feel such sorrow, but all she could do was try and make him feel better. She tilted her head and flicked an ear in his direction, curious. She couldn't help it, she had to giggle. "Because you're cute." she laughed quietly.

[Night]

Kiba looked shocked. He then looked at his paws, embarassed. His heart pounded, but he didn't know what to say. Secretly he was happy. He looked back up and was about to say something when He heard fighting. He immediatly got up and looked out side of the den to see Hougen, Ryu, and Genba fighting another pack, although he didn't know who they were. He went out and stood in front of the den. He growled at the wolves, but they went right by him. Suddenly, he was picked up off of the ground by his scruff. He noticed the pack retreating and noticed that the wolf that had picked him up was following them.

Hougen had a wolf pinned to the ground. His fangs were closed around it's neck and he noticed another wolf carrying Kiba. He was about to do something when suddenly, he felt two other wolves grab onto either side of his neck and held him there.

Genba was backed up against a river. He had four wolves attached to him, each of them had a leg.

Ryu was pinned by a large male wolf. She was struggling to get free to go after Kiba, but every time she did the male's fangs would go deeper into her neck. She knew exactly who led this pack. It was Slade's pack and these wolves were staying behind to let their members run. It was a suicide attempt.

Sagina smiled softly, more comfortable now that he didn't know what to say. Sagina's head flicked quickly to look over her shoulder at the sound of fighting. Getting up, she turned her body to follow her eyes. She could see the older wolves battling another pack, and she snarled instinctively -- fur bristling. She ran to the run, getting there a moment after Kiba did. A soft wind blew past her, and she looked to see Kiba being carried off. "Kiba!" she shouted, running after -- she may have been small, but she was swift. Before she got too far, however, another wolf picked her up and slammed her into a nearby tree and the world went black.

*TimeSkip*

A year had gone by since then, and she had grown older. She was tall and fit -- and fast. While not particularly strong she could outrun the eagle, and did so quite often. The memories of her friend were faded, but she recalled them at times. Her fur was a blend of dark gray and silver, deepening around her muzzle and the tip of her tail -- eyes turned black. She had never gotten over her fear of water, and therefor never learned to swim -- more than once she had lost a kill due to this fear. But she was intent on not loosing yet another deer that day. "Hougen, are you coming with me?" she asked, walking out of the den.

[Night]

Hougen looked at Sagina. He sighed and got up. Stretching, he gave a single yawn. "Yeah, I'm coming," he said, walking out of the den. He had been busy lately, taking care of Ryu, his mate, and their pups.

Ryu was outside of the den, watching her two month old pups run around, playing. She had two boys and a girl, their names were Gin, Roshi, and Lydia. Roshi looked exactly like his father, while the other two looked like each other. She smelt of milk and warmth, just like a mother should smell like.

Genba was being attacked by the pups. He was on his back, trying to relax in the sun, but Roshi had one of his ears and was pulling on it. Lydia and Gin were jumping on him.

Sagina chuckled softly at the sight of Genba, being maulled by her brothers and sister. Well, they weren't technically her siblings, but they might as well have been. Ryo had been the closest thing to a mother, and so such a relationship extended to the little ones. Waiting for Hougen to join her, she trotted off into the woods -- already trailing a scent. It took some time, but when she reached the trio of deer it was most certainly worth it. Lowering herself, she waited for Hougen to get prepared.

[Night]

Hougen followed Sagina. When he saw the deer, his mouth watered. He quickly went to one of the sides and crouched down. He glanced at Sagina and nodded, giving her the signal to start. He was about to run, but suddenly, there was another wolf. He growled as he watch the wolf leap right on top of the deer's back, knocking it over.

Once the deer was on the ground, he bit at it's neck. He growled as he bit into it's neck. He could taste it's blood, which made his mouth water. Once the deer was dead, he brought his head back up. His pale blue eyes traveled over towards the two other wolves.

Sagina's muscles tensed as she caught the signal, lunging towards the deer -- teeth latching onto the animals back. She didn't notice till to late that another wolf was with her; at that point, she jumped back. Fur raised as she moved into a defensive position. A snarl rocketed through her body, much more serious now that she had grown. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see Hougen, growling. Sagina wasn't naturally aggressive, but she definitely could get that way.

Kiba looked at Sagina and then at Hougen. He gave them a light smile and took a step back. "You've forgotten me already, huh? Then the wolves in Slade's pack were right. You only care about yourselves," his deep voice said. He shook his pelt. "Hopefully you recognize me, Sagina. I was part of this pack before," he said, looking at the beautiful she-wolf in front of him.

Hougen looked at the male wolf. He tried to think. "Wait.... no you couldn't be," he said, growling again. He knew who it was, but he thought he was imagining it.

[~*Dream*~]

Sagina flicked an ear and instantly took on a different stance. "I don't know what you're talking about...." she said, tilting her head in confusion. Something was yanking at the back of her mind, screaming to be let out. Finally, she got it. "...Kiba?" she whispered, her expression turning to one of hopeful sorrow. Her tail lowered and she strided a step forward; neck stretched out as if by moving just a little bit closer she'd have her answer.

[Night]

The wolf smiled and nodded. "Yes, it's me," he said, sitting down. His frame was big and his blue eyes, just as pale as the early morning sky. His use to be light brown fur was now dark and fluffy. He was muscular and his paws a bit bigger than normal wolves. His legs were long. He bowed his head to Hougen.

Hougen growled. "Get out," he snarled, fur bristling. "Get out of my territory or I'll rip your fur off," he barked harshly.

Kiba looked shocked at Hougen. "B-but," he began. "Why? I came back for you guys. On my own free will," he said.

[~*Dream*~]

Pure joy flooded Sagina, and she was completely prepared to run over -- to finally be back with her best friend. She stopped herself as a snarl cut through her happiness. Sagina looked over to Hougen, both shocked and confused. The she-wolf whined softly, stepping back. You could see in her eyes that she wanted to run to him, but she was bound by her alpha's will. When Kiba had been taken she had been the most hurt; days and days searching -- even though she never got far. Sagina shifted her weight uncomfortable from paw-to-paw.

Hougen took a step forward. "Why should I let you back into the pack? You had plenty of chances to come back, trust me. I've seen you across the border and you've looked very happy over in Slade's pack," he said.

Kiba flinched back a little. He may be the same size as Hougen, but Hougen was much more exprienced than he was and he knew Hougen could kill. He looked at the ground. "My heart was being torn in two. I didn't know which pack I should be in. I had to think," he said, looking back up at Hougen.
