Sagina had never known how close the other pack was, as she normally kept away from the borders completely -- tending to stay towards the center of the territory. If she had known he was so close the entire time....she cringed slightly, "You had to think? They stole you from your home and you had to think?" she said, anger slowly creeping into her voice. "You chose to stay with them over us? ...Over me?" she whispered. And all these years she had held a special place for him? The title of best friend? Her tail lowered between her legs, ears back as tears welled in her eyes. She wasn't sure why she was being so emotional -- it was just happening.

[Night]

"No, Sagina-," Kiba began, but was cut off when he fell onto the ground.

"Shut up! You have no right to talk to us anymore," Hougen snarled, his dangs around Kiba's neck. It was obvious that he was showing no sympathy, even if he helped raise him when he was a pup.

Kiba whined. "No, please," he said, looking at them. "I didn't choose them, Sagina. If I did, I wouldn't be here right now," he said, but gasped when he felt the fangs go a bit deeper into his throat. "Hougen, your making the wrong choice. You don't have to do this," he said.

[~*Dream*~]

Sagina trembled, closing her eyes to the chaos. Memories flooded her mind, but she didn't linger in them for long. "Hougen stop! Please!" she barked quite pathetically. She was still confused about her emotions and whatnot, but she couldn't just let Hougen kill him while she was standing right there. She strided forward, looking for the guts within herself to do what she was doing. "If not for him, do it for me. I couldn't bare it..." she trailed. She knew Hougen could be harsh, but she also knew that he cared about his family -- she was hoping, at the moment, that he cared enough.

[Night]

Hougen looked up at Sagina. He let go of Kiba's neck and brought his head up. "I don't know why you want him to live. He's trespassing," he said, sitting. He kept his eyes on Kiba. They were full of anger.

Kiba sat up slowly, making sure Hougen didn't attack again. Once he sat up all the way he looked at Sagina. "I remember the last thing you said to me. I never forgot and it runs through my mind everyday. I came back because of my feelings towards this pack, Sagina. I came back because of my feelings towards you. I wanted to figure out if they were the real thing and I couldn't do that stuck in Slade's pack," he said quietly. "I didn't mean to hurt you again. Everytime you seem to get hurt, it's my fault. It always has been," he added.

Hougen snorted and turned. "I'm going back to the dens," he said, picking up the deer and dragging it back towards home.

Sagina could have breathed a sigh of relief, if she hadn't been feeling such confusing emotions. To be honest, she didn't know why she wanted him to live either, but she did. The young wolf was tempted to follow Hougen back the dens, where she knew she was safe, but instead held her ground. "Yes, well, you wouldn't be the first wolf to abandon me." she sniffled, staring at the ground. She had never remembered her past, and while it was no longer apart of her everyday life, it was still a missing part. She hadn't thought about it, however, in a very long time. "Stupid stupid stupid." she whispered, turning away and slamming her head in the bark of a nearby tree.

[Night]

Kiba whined a bit. He walked over to Sagina and pressed his head to her side. He breathed in her sweet scent. It made him feel safe, it always has, even though he never admitted it. "Don't do that, Sagina. I never meant to abandon you, really," he whispered lightly. He may look a bit different, but he was the same Kiba he had always been. He suddenly relized what he was doing and took a huge step back. He looked at the ground. "Sorry," he said, closing his eyes. "If you want me to go, I'll leave you alone," he added, tears formed in the corner of his closed eyes.

Sagina didn't move at first, but eventually shied away a few steps. She looked to the ground, "I don't know any more, Kiba." turning away, she hesitated before disappearing into the undergrowth. She loped back to the dens, to her family. She wanted to talk to Ryo -- she always made her feel better, because she always seemed to understand.

[Night]

Ryo was still out side of the dens. She was watching the pups following Hougen into the den to try some deer for the first time. When she heard the undergrowth rustle, she looked up to see Sagina. She put a soft smile on her face.

Kiba followed Sagina a few steps. He then stopped and looked at the ground. Tears streamed down his face. "Why do I always hurt her? Maybe we're not meant to be," he said to himslef. He looked up at the sky. "Does she hate me or is she scared?" he asked, quietly. As he looked back forward, he couldn't see Sagina anymore. He growled lightly, more mad at himself than anybody, though.

[~*Dream*~]

Lowering her head and pushing through a couple of bushes and back into the clearing of the dens. She instantly caught sight of Ryo, and offered a weak if not slightly pained smile. With a lowered head and drooped ears, she began to walk over before hesitating. Pulling short, she wandered over to a medium-sized thorn bush -- the same piece of shrubbery she had hid in all that time ago. It had come a place of comfort and safety. Now, there was a little ditch in it where she constantly laid. The thorns were little of a bother, with her twilight-like pelt so thick, she barely felt them. Curling up with her tail upon her nose, she closed her eyes. She hadn't meant to fall asleep, but she had in the hopes that it would calm her confused spirit.

[Night]

Ryo noticed Sagina's pained smile. She got up and walked over to the younger she-wolf. She sat down next to her, only to notice that she was asleep. "I wonder what is so wrong," she said to herself. She sniffair to catch a fimiliar scent. She looked shocked, but smiled slightly. "You came back, Kiba," she said.

Kiba was behind Ryo. He had stopped crying. He looked mad instead of sad actually. "Where's Hougen?" he asked, growling.

Hougen walked out of the den and saw Kiba. He snarled at the younger wolf. "I told you to leave," he growled, walking up to Kiba.

Kiba quickly turned to see Hougen. He seemed shocked that the huge wolf could come up on him that quietly. "You changed her. She doesn't want me here because of you," he snapped loud enough to wake Sagina.

[~*Dream*~]

Sagina did not dream, as she was not asleep long enough to do so. A loud voice made her shift her weight and slowly open her eyes to see quite the comotion. It was startling at first, because when one first opens their eyes is when they are most vulnerable. Her shocked heart beat fast, before slowing a bit. Coming out of her spot beneath the brush. she doesn't want me here.... Sagina stood besides Ryo, "That's not true, Kiba..." she began, "But this is my family -- I can't just abandon them." she said softly. She knew Kiba was angry, and wasn't completely sure if he was even paying attention to her easy tones.

[Night]

Kiba shot Sagina a stern glance, but his eyes softened. He turned back to Hougen and snarled. "Hougen tried to kill me. You saw it with your own eyes and you're going to back him up?" he asked, looking back at Sagina. "I never wanted to leave! I never wanted to hurt any of you and when I do come back I'm treated as an enemy," he added. He turned and stood there for a minute. "I don't even know why I bother any more. If I'm not welcome, then I'll just leave," ge said, running away.

Hougen looked at Sagina. "If you like him so much than go after him! Go," he snapped. He turned and walked back towards the dens.

Ryo looked at Sagina. "Go after him. Comfort him. I know you still like him. I can see it in your eyes, just by the way you look at him," she said softly before getting up and walking towards the dens to calm Hougen down.

[~*Dream*~]

Sagina cringed, stepping back and looking at the ground. "Kiba, wait!" she called, but he had already run off. Sagina watched silently as Hougen and Ryo disappeared into the dens. Her heart felt ripped in two, torn by her love for Kiba and her undying loyalty to her pack. She paced in a circle uncertainly before taking off in the direction Kiba had gone. The world blurred around her as she ducked under fallen trees and jumped ditches. His scent was still strong, and following him was easy. Being as swift as she was, it wasn't long till she caught a glimps of him up ahead. "Kiba!" she shouted, breathing hard as she sprinted.

Kiba heard Sagina's voice. He looked back to only see her. He wasn't sure if he should stop or not, his heart told him to go to her, but his mind was screaming to run back to Slade. He gulped and eventually slowed to a stop. He seemed a bit bloody like he had purposely banged into trees to get the pain out of his heart. He had a long gash on his side, but he didn't seem to feel it. He stared at the ground, waiting for her to catch up. "What do you want?" he asked.

Sagina slowed as she came near, panting from her run -- if they had been racing, she would have complained about him getting a head start. 'What happened to you?" she whispered, stepping forward. After a few hesitant steps, she walked forward quickly. She buried her face in the side of his neck, weeping quietly as her body shook slightly.
