Kiba took a step back. He looked at her. "I wanted the pain to go away. I didn't want to feel it anymore. The wolf that was like a father to me. He betray me. My best friend, the love of my life, has choosen to sta=ick with him," he said, looking at her. His eyes were ice cold, but they had another emotion in them.

Sagina went to step forward, yearning to touch him -- to feel safe. A pain tore through her heart, one that could not be described by mere words. "What do you want me to do, Kiba? Leave them all behind? Abandon them? Ryo and Hougen have pups, I have two brothers and a sister now. Am I just supposed to forget about them?" Tears ran down her face under his harsh gaze. It wasn't supposed to be like this, this feud between the wolves she loved -- her stuck in the middle like a ball of yarn between the paws of a cat.

[Night]

Kiba looked down. "They would've been my brothers and sister too, but I was carried away. I watched Hougen, Genba, and Ryo let them take me. They didn't care. Hougen and Genab could've easily took those wolves out and come after me and you know that just as well as I do," he said, looking at her. His eyes softened a bit. "I just wanted to join the pack again and all of you are abandonning me," he said. "YOU'RE ABANDONING ME, SAGINA!" he yelled at her. His heart was pounding. It felt like it was going to be ripped out of his chest and he wish it would. He didn't want to go through this any more.

I cared. she thought, thinking back to when she was slammed into a tree and knocked unconscious. It had taken hours for her to come back to, and when she had she had been met with a killer headache. "Stop Kiba." she said softly, closing her eyes. "Kiba, just stop!" she yelled, shaking her head and crumpling to the ground in a circle. Her eyes were slammed shut as she trembled. Her mind raced, looking for relief from this torture -- but, alas, there was none.

[Night]

Kiba closed his mouth, deciding not to say another word. He slowly walked over to Sagina and laid down next to her. His eyes were soft again. He pressed his face to hers, hoping to make her feel better. "I'm sorry, Sagina. I'm always hurting you and I don't mean to," he whispered, licking he cheek. His heart was slowing to a normal pace and he suddenly began to feel the wounds he had inflicted on himself. He flinched a bit, but ignored it, hoping to comfort her. "Please, calm down. I don't want to see you like this," he added.

Next to Kiba, the she-wolf looked quite small -- her frame meant to run, not at all muscular. Some of her silver fur turned a light red as she leaned against him; but she didn't really care. She slowly began to calm, "I just want things to go back to normal." she whispered, opening her eyes and staring off into space. This was too much in one day, and it felt like both her heart and mind were just bearing too much.

[Night]

"I want them too, also. I don't know if they ever could, though," Kiba said, looking up at the sky. "Things will never be the same. I could've been with you all of these years, but I messed up. I have always messed up," he added, looking back down at the she-wolf. He smiled a bit. "Well, now I can make it better. Convince Hougen to let me stay with you all. I belong here, but he doesn't believe me," he said. He wondered if he was asking too much, but he wanted to be with her. He had to be with her and he couldn't wait any longer.

Sagina didn't reply at first, giving her mind a moment to return to functioning at a normal rate and not hyper speed. For the first time that entire day she was feeling okay; laying there. "I will try, Kiba, but even if he allows it, he'll still make your life miserable." she said, raising her head, her black eyes meeting his silvery blue ones.

[Night]

"I don't care. I want to be with you, so I can protect you. So I can make up for what I've done before. I couldn't protect you back then, please, Sagina. It's not because I want to be in this pack. It's not because I want to be with my old family. It's because of you. It always has been," Kiba said, burrying his face into her shoulder. "I don't want to leave you again," he said much more quietly. His eyes were closed as he let her fur warm him. It was almost night and a chilly breeze was coming through the forest.

Sagina's eyes watched him softly with nothing but admiration and love. "I don't want you to leave, either, Kiba." she muttered, licking his forehead. The breeze brushed her fur, but she was warm here, comfortable next to Kiba. "It's going to be okay...everything's going to be okay." she whispered, more to herself as she lowered her head back to the ground.

[Night]

Kiba looked up at the sky. "It's getting late. I better be going," he said, getting up. He shivered as the wind ruffled his fur. He shook his pelt to fluff it out, and then looked down at Sagina. Suddenly, he heard a rustle and he looked towards a few bushes.

A figure came out, although it was too small to be Hougen or Genba. Smiling, she looked at Kiba. "Come on Sagina, we're going home," Ryo said, smiling at the other she-wolf. She then looked at Kiba who looked hurt. "You too, Hougen said you can stay the night and he'll make the decision tomorrow," she said, giving him a soft smile.

[~*Dream*~]

The sudden absence of warmth shocked her body slightly, but it was quickly overcome as she adjusted to the familiar temperature -- this was home and she was only too aware of the climate here. Looking towards the brush, she got up silently. "Thanks, Ryo." she said, smiling almost apologetically as she walked to Ryo's side -- stopping, waiting for Kiba to join them. She wasn't completely free of her negative feelings, but she was feeling better, at least.

[Night]

Kiba looked at both She-wolves. He slowly followed Sagina, expecting a trap, but was only nuzzled by Ryo. He smiled. He felt like he was welcome. He felt like he was home. The only thing was, that his use to be his home and it's not anymore, well it could be by the next morning, but that was Hougen and Genba's choice. He looked at Sagina. "So what do Ryo's pups look like?" he asked.

Ryo turned and began walking back towards the dens. Her soft gray pelt, was almost black as night began to set in the forest.

Sagina followed along behind Ryo, a half-step or two in front of Kiba. They were all shadows as they weaved easily in between the trees and back to the dens. Sagina's ear flicked as the passed near the river and away from it again; always weary of that dreadful sound. "They're all quite adorable. Roshi is the little black one with dark eyes. Lydia and Gin look exactly alike -- red, though Lydia has some gray in her." she laughed softly, "I'm not sure how they'll respond to you, though, they've never met a stranger before." she noted as they came ever closer to the dens.

Kiba nodded, listening. When they got close to the dens, he looked around. Suddenly, he was hit in one of his legs. He fell to the ground only to be attacked by a few pups. One had his ear another had his tail and the last one had ont of his paws. They all growled at him.

"Roshi, Lydia, Gin! Let go of him right now," Ryo said, sternly. She heard chuckling and looked to see Hougen.

"Let them play, Ryo. Plus, they're getting practice in," Hougen said, watching his pups tug on Kiba. They looked like they were trying to pull his limbs right out of his body, but weren't strong enough.
